- breadcrumbs – optional, for extra crispiness
- eggs
- milk
- garlic powder
- smoked paprika

- cooking oil spray
- for the chipotle ranch dressing for dipping (optional): mayo, sour cream, lemon juice, chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt & pepper
Step by step

- Crush the Doritos into fine crumbs using a food processor, or place them in a sealed bag and crush with a rolling pin. If using, stir in the breadcrumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture onto the chicken strips until evenly coated.
- Dip each chicken strip into the egg mixture, then press it into the Doritos mixture to coat completely.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly spray with cooking oil.
- Place the coated chicken strips on the prepared sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until golden and crispy. (While the chicken cooks, whip up the dressing if desired.)
- Serve immediately with the Chipotle Ranch Dressing if desired.

Tips for Best Results
- Crush the Doritos as finely as possible for an even coating that sticks better to the chicken.
- Pat the chicken strips dry with paper towels before seasoning to help the coating adhere properly.
- Space the chicken strips apart on the baking tray so air can circulate, and they crisp up evenly.
- Flip the tenders halfway through baking to ensure both sides get golden and crunchy.
- Let the tenders rest for a few minutes after baking so the coating sets and stays crunchy.
Variations
Although nacho cheese Doritos are a classic choice, you can easily experiment with other flavors like Cool Ranch, Spicy Nacho, or Flamin’ Hot for a bolder taste.
Serving suggestions
If you love this recipe, you should try pairing it with Doritos taco salad or mac and cheese for the ultimate comfort food feast. For a fun appetizer, pair it with a variety of sides and sauces like ranch dressing, honey mustard, bourbon barbecue sauce, or a creamy chipotle ranch dip for extra flavor.
Storage
Keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For the crispiest Doritos chicken tenders, warm them in a 375°F oven for 8–10 minutes instead of microwaving.
You can prep the strips ahead by coating and freezing them, then bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to ensure they cook through.
