Add in ideas

Don’t be afraid to get creative with your homemade teriyaki chicken rice bowl! Here are some variations to consider:

  • Substitute chicken breasts with chicken thighs, tofu, or shrimp for a different protein option.
  • Use brown rice, quinoa, and cauliflower rice instead of white rice for added fiber and nutrients.
  • Experiment with different vegetable combinations such as bell peppers, mushrooms, or snap peas.
  • Customize the homemade teriyaki sauce by adding honey for extra sweetness or an extra splash of rice wine vinegar for tanginess.

Storage

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

When reheating, microwave until heated through or gently reheat in a large skillet on the stovetop to maintain the flavors and textures.
