Ya’ll … it is HOT. Like, sweating just walking the 40 feet to the mail box HOT. Don’t even get me started on lugging in groceries! I’ve lived in Florida for 25+ years, but man Mother Nature, cut a girl a break! With two active boys, a never-ending love affair with the beach and a pool in every other backyard, we have been spending a ton of time outside. Annnnnnndddd sweating our butts off. Figuratively of course. {Don’t I wish!}
Until my mom showed up at a baseball game with this peppermint cooling spray and saved the day. And the whole Summer!
Do you hear the minty angels singing?
This stuff is a life saver.
And it only has two ingredients.
Which means I will be making this peppermint cooling spray in buckets this Summer!
How to Make Peppermint Cooling Spray
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. water
- 3-5 drops Young Living Peppermint essential oil
Instructions:
- Drip 3-5 drops of Young Living Peppermint essential oil in a 2 oz. spray bottle.
- Fill bottle with water (distilled is my preference just because our tap water smells like chlorine from time to time).
- Shake well, spritz on your chest, arms, feet or neck and COOL down!
This is definitely one of my Summer essentials and will have a permanent place in my beach bag and ballpark tote bag! You can add a drop of Lavender to soothe or a few drops of aloe gel for a little moisture, too. Here is to staying cool and fresh this Summer!

So darn awesome Keri and so essential for these hot summers here in Sacramento 🙂 Pinned and stumbled!
Great idea!
I must make some for the beach!!
I never even thought about using peppermint to cool off. Smart! Another plus is it keeps the bugs away!
Thanks so much for sharing this great spray idea. I bet it must be so refreshing on a hot summers day!

do you have to worry about being in the sun with the oil on?
From what I understand, citrus essential oils could make you more sensitive to the sun, but I have not had a problem at all with the peppermint cooling spray!
But oil and water don’t mix..
