It’s light, refreshing, and so easy to make. I love experimenting with different fruit combos—sometimes I go tropical, sometimes I keep it classic. No matter what, it’s always a hit!

Tips for Best Results

  • Choose ripe, fresh fruit for the best balance of sweetness and texture.
  • Gently toss the salad to keep the fruit intact and avoid bruising.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
  • If adding apples, pears, or bananas, wait until just before serving to keep them from browning.

Variations

Play around with different fruits such as raspberries, blackberries, melons, apples, pears, or bananas to find your favorite combination. Fresh fruit is the ideal, but if necessary, you can substitute with drained canned pineapple (20 oz.) or mandarin oranges (15 oz.). I don’t recommend frozen fruit, as it tends to become too soft once thawed.

I used vanilla-flavored Greek yogurt, but you can try other flavors like strawberry, honey, mixed berry, or lemon. If you opt for plain Greek yogurt, adding ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract will enhance its taste. Additionally, lemon can be swapped for lime, and maple syrup can take the place of honey.

Serving suggestions

It’s hard to go wrong with fresh fruit salad! Enjoy it as-is, or use it to top yogurt or oatmeal. I also love serving it as part of a brunch spread or at summer BBQs.

Storage

You’ll get the best flavor and texture if you eat this salad fresh, but if you need to store it, an airtight container in the fridge will keep it good for up to two days. The fruit will soften and release juices, so storing the dressing separately helps keep things fresh.
