Making asparagus is very easy, and even easier when you let your slow cooker do the work! This is the perfect recipe for when you are cooking a holiday meal and your cooktop is full of other dishes.

Ingredients
- fresh asparagus
- lemon juice
- garlic
- salt and pepper

Step by step
- Trim the woody ends off of the asparagus and place in the slow cooker.
- Mix lemon juice, water, garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl or measuring cup.
- Pour the mixture over the asparagus.
- Top with lemon slices.
- Cook 1 1/2-2 hours on low.
Tips for best results
Check the asparagus at the 1 1/2 hour mark for doneness, cook time will depend on the thickness of the asparagus and the desired tenderness.
Variations
You can make this recipe your own by trying out different variations. Add in halved cherry tomatoes, diced onion or shallot, or top with fresh herbs or parmesan cheese.
Serving suggestions

Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh asparagus
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 lemon, sliced
Instructions
- Trim ends of asparagus and place in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Mix lemon juice, water, garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl or measuring cup. Pour mixture over the asparagus.
- Top with lemon slices.
- Cook on low for 1 1/2-2 hours. (see note below)
Notes
Check for doneness after 1 1/2 hours. Asparagus may require up to 2 hours depending on thickness of the stems.
