Cream cheese mints are known by a variety of names: cream cheese butter mints, baby shower mints, wedding mints. Whatever you call them, you’re going to love these easy to make and absolutely addictive treats!

I make my cream cheese mints without butter and they turn out almost like the middle of a peppermint patty. My family LOVES them and they usually last only a day or two!

Ingredients

  • cream cheese (of course!)
  • powdered sugar
  • mint extract
  • milk
  • sprinkles (optional)

Step by step

  1. Mix cream cheese, mint extract, 2 cups of powdered sugar, and sprinkles in a large bowl or stand mixer until fully blended.
  2. Add remaining powdered sugar 1 cup at a time while mixing by hand.
  3. Mix sprinkles and additional powdered sugar in a small bowl.
  4. Roll dough into balls and then roll the balls in the sprinkle mixture and place on a baking sheet or plate.
  5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, then flatten with a fork.

These mints freeze very well! Store in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container up to 9 months.

You can make these with peppermint extract, spearmint extract, peppermint oil, or even try other extracts like almond, lemon, cherry, or orange! It’s a fun recipe to experiment with.

If the dough is sticky, no worries. Add more powdered sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing by hand, until it is no longer sticky and can be easily rolled into balls.
