Whether you are hosting a book club, baby shower, brunch or bachelorette party, this appetizer will disappear in no time flat! Honestly, I’d probably have a second one prepped and ready to pop in the oven. And make sure you grab strawberries at the grocery store to serve with this. Trust me.
Strawberry Jalapeño Baked Brie
I mean c’mon.
Is there anything better than ooey gooey Brie and a sweet and spicy fruit spread schmeared on a baguette? Just look at that creamy puddle of cheese …
The secret to the little sneaky kick of heat is quite simple …
Smucker’s Fruit & Honey Strawberry Jalapeno Fruit Spread is a new “better for you” fruit spread sweetened with honey. It spreads beautifully on nutty seeded toast, easily turns into a sweet and spicy glaze for fish and chicken and is perfect for our twist on this classic baked Brie appetizer!
This is one of only 3 ingredients for this Strawberry Jalapeño Baked Brie.
Once you’ve spread a generous amount of fruit spread over a wheel of Brie, just wrap it up in that buttery sheet of crescent roll dough. I tried to get all fancy and twist the dough into this pretty little rosette 🙂
Pop this pretty little package in the oven and let it bake until the dough is cooked through and it is a gorgeous golden brown.
You will have to practice patience because you need to let this baked Brie rest for about 5-10 minutes. Otherwise, the cheese will spill out ALL over and make a huge mess!
Strawberry Jalapeño Baked Brie
- One 8 oz. round of Brie cheese
- 2 tablespoons Smucker’s Fruit & Honey Strawberry Jalapeno spread
- One crescent roll dough sheet
- Baguette slices cracker and strawberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll crescent roll dough sheet on parchment paper.
Remove Brie cheese from packaging and center the round on the sheet of dough.
Spread 2 tablespoons of Smucker’s Fruit & Honey Strawberry Jalapeno Fruit Spread over the top of the cheese.
Fold dough over cheese and remove any excess. (I twisted some of the dough to create a decorative design on the top.)
Bake for 18 - 23 minutes until pastry is golden brown.
Allow baked brie to rest for 5-10 minutes.
Transfer baked brie to a serving plate and serve with baguette slices, crackers and halved strawberries.
But once you cut open the edge, through the flaky crust and into the fruit spread, this creamy dreamy cheese spills out in a glorious gush and you’ll need to rush in with baguette rounds and halved strawberries in hand to sop it up!
Trust me on the strawberries … you won’t be able to stop at just one. The fresh tart berry + the sweet heat of the strawberry jalapeño fruit spread + melty nutty cheese = a little bite of heaven!
