Tips for Best Results

  • If you want it spicy you can add some red pepper flakes.
  • You can use water instead of chicken broth, it’ll have less flavor though.
  • Make sure the pasta noodles are covered in broth, if you need to add more broth, add some till the noodles are covered.

Variations

  • add a layer of spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost.
  • use ricotta cheese in place of cottage cheese for a richer texture.
  • try different pasta shapes like penne or fusilli for fun, you can also break up lasagna noodles if you want the more traditional look of lasagna
  • swap ground beef for ground turkey or Italian sausage for a different flavor profile.

Serving suggestions

This dish offers fantastic versatility and matches perfectly with a fresh, crisp Caesar salad with homemade croutons or lightly roasted vegetables for a burst of freshness. Enjoy it with a piece of crunchy homemade cheesy garlic breadsticks, ideal for soaking up the tasty sauce.

These straightforward accompaniments enhance the richness of the lasagna, rounding out your meal delightfully.

Storing and reheating tips

Easy skillet lasagna can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for 3-4 days.

To reheat, simply warm it in the microwave or back in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of broth if it seems dry.
