Tips for Best Results

  • Pizza Dough: Homemade cheese bread sticks can be made with store bought pizza dough or an easy homemade pizza dough with warm water, active dry yeast, all-purpose flour, olive oil, and salt. Pre-made pizza dough will save you time and a little effort.
  • Even Cheese Distribution: Ensure that you evenly sprinkle cheese over the entire surface of the dough to guarantee each bite is packed with melted cheese goodness.
  • Add or Swap Types of Cheese: For a little more of a sharp cheese flavor, add or substitute cheddar cheese instead of shredded mozzarella cheese on these homemade breadsticks.
  • Layering Flavors: Layering the melted butter infused with garlic powder, followed by the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, creates depth of flavor in every bite. Don’t skimp on any of these steps!
  • Proper Baking Time: Keep an eye on your cheesy breadsticks while they’re in the oven to ensure they reach a golden brown perfection without burning. Every oven is different, so adjust the baking time accordingly.
  • Finishing Touches: Don’t skip brushing the freshly baked cheesy breadsticks with additional melted butter and sprinkling them with chopped parsley. Not only does it add a pop of color but also enhances the garlic flavor and adds a touch of freshness to each bite.
  • Serve Warm: Cheesy breadsticks are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven when the cheese is gooey and the crust is still warm and crispy. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for an extra indulgent treat.
