- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 3 tsp garlic, minced
- 8 oz bowtie pasta, dry
- 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
- 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 1/2 tsp oregano, dried
- 1 tbsp onion flakes, dried and minced
- 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
- 2/3 cup cottage cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided
- Parmesan cheese
- parsley, for toppings (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, add the ground beef, salt, pepper, oregano, onion flakes, and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat until the beef is fully cooked and browned.
- Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and pasta noodles to the pan. Stir until everything is well combined.
- Cover and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 14-18 minutes, or until the noodles are cooked through.
- Once the noodles are cooked, remove the skillet from the heat. Add the cottage cheese and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, stirring well until everything is combined.
- Top with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Cover and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese on top has melted.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley (optional) before serving.
