Tips for Best Results

  • Don’t Overstuff: Fill the cups just enough to avoid mess during baking.
  • Crispy Wonton Cups: Don’t over bake the wonton wrappers initially, they will crisp up more during the final bake.
  • Cream Cheese Consistency: Make sure your cream cheese is soft enough to mix easily.
  • Customize the Heat: Adjust the jalapeño quantity to your preferred spice level. Leaving the seeds and ribs makes it more spicy, removing them reduces the heat.

Variations

Add some cooked chicken to the filling for extra protein, or try different cheeses like Monterey Jack or mozzarella cheese for a new flavor twist. You can also switch up the peppers for different heat levels.

Serving suggestions

  • dip in ranch or sour cream for a cool touch
  • add a sprinkle of green onions or cilantro for extra flavor
  • the creamy texture of guacamole pairs well with the spicy wonton cups
  • a mild salsa or homemade pico de gallo complements the flavors and adds some freshness

Storage

Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them in a 350°F oven or air fry for about 5 minutes to get them crispy again.
