Even better when they take advantage of my slow cooker like this London Broil or this Lazy Lasagna! This slow cooker Creamy Ranch Chicken fits the bill exactly! With only 4 ingredients and 5 minutes of prep time, it’s perfect for those busy nights when life gets crazy!
Why I love this recipe
Five minutes of prep time, 4 ingredients, and a few hours later you have chicken in a creamy, zesty sauce packed with flavor. With a chicken recipe as good as this, you’ll put this on your dinner rotation often!
Ingredients
- boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- packet of dry ranch dressing mix
- cream of mushroom soup
- cream cheese
- starch of your choice for serving-I use bowtie pasta-more suggestions below
Instructions
- Place chicken breast in the slow cooker and top with ranch mix, then pour over the cream of mushroom soup, and finally top with cubed cream cheese.
- Cook on low for 5 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Shred chicken with two forks and stir to mix.
- Serve over your favorite pasta!
Variations
- serve over rice, egg noodles, roasted potatoes, cauliflower rice, or on its own
- use cream of chicken soup, cream of onion soup, or another similar variety
- add in a veggie like peas, baby carrots, or broccoli
- layer chopped potatoes and carrots below the chicken in the slow cooker before cooking
- top with cooked and crumbled bacon
- top with Parmesan or cheddar cheese
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave.
This recipe freezes well. Store in a freezer container up to 3 months, thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave.

- 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet dry ranch mix
- noodles for serving (see note)
Instructions
- In a slow cooker layer chicken, then ranch seasoning mix, top with cream of mushroom soup and finally cubed cream cheese.
- Cook on high 3 hours or low 5 hours.
- Shred chicken with two forks and serve over starch of your choice
