{taste this} mayflower munch mix

I am a little obsessed with munch mixes lately ... you know, where you just toss all sorts of yummy things in a bowl and give it a fun name?  So with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I figured I needed to put together a simple munch mix to tide everyone over until dinner was finished.  {taste this} Mayflower munch mix!!

This mix is a great salty and sweet combination with a little history lesson thrown in ;)

Mix together as much or as little as you like of the following:

While you are munching, you can talk about what each ingredient represents:

Candy Corn - to represent maize/corn

Craisins - to represent the North East where cranberries are grown
Pretzel sticks - to represent the forest and the logs used to build homes for the Pilgrims
M&Ms - M is for the Mayflower
Corn Chex - to represent maize/corn

Put it in a big bowl for grazing or package it up and put it in my cute little turkey treat cups!

Your Thanksgiving guests will appreciate the snack and you can rest at ease until dinner is ready!  Here are a few more munch mixes to satisfy your snack cravings!

Manly Munch Mix - mix with a kick for Fathers' Day!

This project or recipe was shared at all the blogs on my Link page! Go take a peek ... they rock!

  18. What a great Thanksgiving snack! I love your photos, too, gorgeous! We make a similar mix, but add in the little candy pumpkins, pretzels (folded arms in prayer for gratitude) and bugles - which look like tiny cornucopias!
