My aunt is the queen of entertaining for a crowd. (Remember these Crock Pot Apple Jelly Meatballs? Her recipe.) Whether it is for her ladies golf group, hosting a baby shower or just having her big extended family over for a meal, she has got feeding a crowd down to a science! So, when I was visiting her in Ohio this Summer and she whipped up a big batch of her sloppy joes, I knew I needed to share them with you!
Sloppy Joes for a Crowd
So this recipe starts with a whopping five pounds of ground beef. We are feeding a crowd after all! Make sure you have a large skillet or sauce pot so you have room to brown all of that meat. (This would be me speaking from experience.)
Also make sure you use a large enough skillet/pot to add 4 cans of various sauces and soups. (This would also be me speaking from experience.)
Moral of the story? Use a BIG pot. Because here is what you’ll end up with …
All that savory, saucy sloppy joe mixture just waiting to be spooned on top of soft bakery buns!
I actually like to toast the buns and eat my sloppy joes open faced – that way, there is more of that meaty sauce to enjoy!
