Pizza in a fun, flaky swirl? Count me in!
Pizza pinwheels are my favorite way to enjoy all the classic flavors of pizza in a cute, bite-sized form. They are proof golden, flaky spirals filled with melty cheese, zesty sauce, and all my favorite pizza toppings.
Why I love this recipe
I can never say no to pizza pinwheels! They are crispy, cheesy, and packed with that classic pizza flavor. The flaky puff pastry makes them feel a little fancy, but they are super simple to make.
Ingredients

- puff pastry dough
- marinara sauce
- pepperoni
- Mozzarella cheese
- olive oil
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- fresh Italian parsley
Step by step
- Lay the puff pastry flat on a clean surface or cutting board and brush it with olive oil. Sprinkle garlic powder and onion powder evenly over the dough.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella on top, then layer the pepperoni slices over the cheese.
- Carefully roll the pastry and place it in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm up.

- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the rolled pastry from the freezer and slice it into eight equal pinwheels.
- Arrange the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped Italian parsley, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Tips for Best Results
- Freeze before slicing to help the pinwheels hold their shape.
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Don’t overfill—too much sauce or cheese can make them difficult to roll.
- Brush the dough with olive oil for extra crispiness and flavor.
- Let them cool slightly before serving to keep the cheese from spilling out.

Variations
These pinwheels are super flexible! Substitute the pepperoni for sausage, ham, or grilled veggies for a different twist. You can also use red pepper flakes if you love spice. And if you want a cheesier bite, try mixing in some cheddar and Parmesan.
Storage
Store leftover pizza pinwheels in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, bake or air fry at 350°F for about 5 minutes until crispy. Unbaked pinwheels can be frozen too. Just slice, freeze, and store in a freezer bag for up to a month.
