How to Make Orange Vanilla Sugar
Real quick, can we talk about the packaging? Something as simple as a round kraft tag + a scrap paper leaf + orange striped bakers twine + a mini clothespin = 1000 on the cuteness scale!
Okay, back to this sugar. Orange zest and orange essential oil give this such a gorgeous citrus scent and flavor. If you don’t have clear vanilla extract, scrape the caviar out of a vanilla bean or even use vanilla powder.
How to Use Orange Vanilla Sugar
- This orange vanilla sugar is soooooo delicious stirred into a mug of hot tea. And I’m pretty sure my sweet tea will never be the same.
- Instead of cinnamon sugar, I sprinkled some of this orange vanilla sugar on a piece of toast and it was divine! Little bits of sugared orange zest and the bright taste of orange was pretty delightful!
- It would be awesome sprinkled on roasted carrots and sweet potatoes, too!
Orange Essential Oil is one of my very favorites! I love to diffuse it with Cinnamon or Peppermint. Add it to regular ice water for a refreshing twist. Of course, I use it in my favorite Mason Jar Air Fresheners.

Yum! I love orange and vanilla together. I drop some in my sparkling water from time to time and it’s amazing.
Your packaging is always 1000 on the cuteness scale!
Where do you find clear vanilla?
Hi Pat – I should clarify, it is clear artificial vanilla extract. I found it in my grocery store but you can also find it where cake decorating supplies are sold or online.
This looks so good! I love orange and vanilla. Thanks for sharing. I found you through the 36th Avenue link party.

Hi,
this is probably a silly question but can I substitute the sugar for salt in the scrubs ? I read somewhere that the salt scrubs are better as they don’t have to be refrigerated !
All of your sugar scrubs look awesome, thank you for sharing them 🙂
If you are suggesting they eat this shouldnt it be Orange Vitality? The edible version?
Hi Sarah – the orange oil could be ingested by mouth before it was labeled Vitality 🙂
I read their web site and the orange oil specifically says for external use only.
I was wondering if you have to refrigerate this orange Sugar and how long will it last?
I would keep it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks Patricia
Just major orange vanilla sugar. Do you have to keep it in the refrigerator and how long will it last
