Why I love this recipe

While many people can be intimidated by tart recipes, I’m all about making it easy. No fuss food, remember? We make the tart crust out of premade frozen puff pastry so the hardest thing you need to do is remember to thaw it beforehand!

Because this recipe is so easy to make, cleanup is easy too. No stack of dishes in the sink to take away the joy of this delicious dessert!

  • puff pastry dough
  • Nutella (of course!)
  • chocolate chips
  • strawberries
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Step by step

This recipe is so easy, even if it does look “fancy!”

  1. Thaw the puff pastry dough according to the package directions.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. Lay the puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet and spread with Nutella, leaving a border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the Nutella.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and top with sliced strawberries and powdered sugar.

Can’t you practically taste the buttery puff pastry and that rich chocolate hazelnut spread melting in your mouth??

  • sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts
  • sprinkle with chocolate chips after baking instead of before
  • change up your fruit: raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, even sliced banana would all be great alternatives to the strawberries

Store this tart in the refrigerator in an airtight container up to 3 days.
