Dear Nutella,
I agree. It has been too long. But see, there is this almost 15 year old kid. Who just can't quit you. So, I'm sorry for stashing you in that dark cabinet with our rarely used serving pieces. It was for your own good. Well, really for our good. Because there is nothing but good to say about this super easy dessert recipe and you are the tasty, tasty star! Let's do lunch (and breakfast and snacks and dessert) soon. Mwah!
Easy Chocolate Nutella Tart
I know that was a fairly melodramatic way to introduce this tart, but seriously, it has been almost two years since I posted a Nutella recipe. What is up with that?! Can we all agree if you start jonesing for some Nutella, that you just leave me a little note? Or just send me a case of Nutella. That would work too 😉
This easy chocolate Nutella tart is going to be your new best friend recipe, your hail mary sweet treat, your in a pinch dinner party dessert. Fruit or no fruit, this thing is money. Trust me. Once your puff pastry is thawed, this beauty can be on your table in less than 20 minutes!
PrintEasy Chocolate Nutella Tart
- Yield: 2 Chocolate Nutella Tarts 1x
Ingredients
- One sheet of puff pastry (thawed according to package directions)
- ⅔ cup Nutella
- 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
- 10 strawberries
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400*.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the sheet of puff pastry in half and place both halves on the baking sheet.
- Spread about ⅓ cup of Nutella on each tart, leaving about a ½ inch allowance around the edge of the tart.
- Sprinkle each tart with 1 tablespoon of mini chocolate chips.
- Bake the tarts for 10 - 12 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and baked through. The tarts will puff during cooking.
- Allow the tarts to cool slightly - they will settle and sink down a bit.
- While the tarts are cooling, slice the strawberries.
- Pile the strawberry slices down the middle of the tart and dust generously with powdered sugar.
- Slice and serve!
Can you believe how easy that was? Thaw puff pastry, spread some Nutella, sprinkle some chocolate chips and bake. Add some fresh fruit and add a dusting of powdered sugar and that little French bakery down the street has NOTHING on you.
Oh puff pastry ... I am smitten with you! So light, so golden, so flaky! And only made better by that layer of warm, melty Nutella and chocolate. AND THEN, topped with tart slices of ripe strawberries {or raspberries or blueberries!}and a generous dusting of powdered sugar. Sweet sweet heaven!
Now THIS would be the perfect for your Mum for Mothers' Day ... who needs flowers when you show up with a dreamy delicious chocolate Nutella tart?! I mean, bake a tart, make a pan of banana sugar cookie bars and a batch of chocolate raspberry cookie cups and she'll forgive you for not naming your first born after her and forget all about that time you wrecked her new car 😉

Holy Nutella Jars! That looks so amazing.
I buy the HUGE jar from Sam's and my boys devour it. I might have to try hiding it, too or I'm going to own the company!
