Serving suggestions

For a comforting meal, serve it with a crisp Caesar salad to add a fresh touch or some green beans or roasted vegetables and dijon sauce for a healthy twist. Warm, crusty bread or homemade pesto garlic bread also makes a fantastic companion, perfect for dipping into the creamy sauce.

Storage

This casserole recipe stores and reheats like a dream, making it perfect for meal prep or leftovers.

Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

You can also freeze this crock pot chicken casserole. Allow it to cool completely, then transfer it to airtight containers or freezer bags, ensuring that you remove as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.

To reheat, simply microwave it on medium power until heated through, stirring occasionally to ensure even warmth. If it seems a bit thick, a splash of chicken broth or chicken stock to bring it back to its creamy consistency.
