Calling all coffee lovers! And cocktail drinkers! That should cover a fair amount of us here at Shaken Together, no? 😉 Now, there are not a ton of adult beverages here at Shaken Together. So, when I share one with you, you can bet your bottom dollar it is going to be GOOD! And in this case, good is an understatement! These festive cocktails are definitely coffee break meets happy hour: creamy and decadent, with a touch of sparkle, big Vanilla Latte and Chocolate Chai flavor and a punch with 13.9% alcohol! Bottoms up!!
Boozy Coffeehouse Italian Sodas
These cocktails are a twist on an Italian soda which is typically made by pouring layers of flavored syrup, sparkling water, cream and whipped cream over ice. Instead of flavored syrup, I substituted mü coffeehouse cocktails! I found them at my local Publix, but it is also available at other retailers. (mü was on sale at our grocery store, but you may get lucky and find them with a $2 coupon, too!)
Now, you can totally just pour mü over ice and enjoy – so smooth and delicious! But when you swirl them up with a touch of club soda and cream, then add a dollop of whipped cream PLUS some chocolate shavings or cinnamon? Creamy, dreamy boozy coffeehouse Italian sodas!!
My favorite drink at our local fancy coffee shop is an Iced Chai Latte. So I made not one, but two mü cocktails inspired by my favorite iced coffee drink!
First up is the Vanilla Latte Boozy Italian Soda. Topped with whipped cream and garnished with cinnamon, this cocktail would be absolutely perfect to serve for your cookie decorating party or for girls’ night in!
If there is vanilla, there must be chocolate. So, I created a chocolate chai cocktail garnished with chocolate shavings. Because chocolate! The Chocolate Chai Boozy Italian Soda is delicately chocolate with a touch of spice and could not be more appropriate for an after-dinner drink with dessert or for your New Year’s Eve party!
Seriously, what is better than being able to make coffee-inspired cocktails at home? No misspelled names, no hefty bar tab … just super delicious Boozy Coffeehouse Italian Sodas!
Drink up!! Here are a few more of my favorite festive drinks!

What could I use instead of mu? It is not sold in Michigan.
Mu is a creamy coffee flavored alcohol, so you could try Kahlua or any coffee liqueur. Enjoy!
