Description

If you love the warm, cinnamon-sugar flavors of classic snickerdoodles, you’re going to adore these Snickerdoodle Bars! They’re soft, chewy, and so much easier to make than individual cookies—perfect for when you need a quick and delicious dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon, for sprinkling
  • ½ cup brown sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper, making sure to leave some extra paper hanging over the edges for easy lifting later.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is fluffy and smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract until fully blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda until everything is evenly mixed.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring just until the dough comes together.
  6. Evenly spread the prepared dough into the baking pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle it evenly over the baked bars.
  9. Let the bars cool completely before cutting them into squares.
