Description
Slow cooker chicken teriyaki is a fast, delicious meal you can make with just 10 minutes of prep time, perfect for busy weeknights! Chicken is cooked in a homemade teriyaki sauce made with soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger and served over rice for a meal that will have you skipping the takeout from now on!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts, cubed
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons ginger powder
- Green onions and or sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the chicken into cubes and toss with cornstarch to coat.
- Mix sauce ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add chicken to the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over the top.
- Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low 6-7 hours.
- Serve over white rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in the microwave.
Freeze chicken teriyaki for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe container or freezer bag.
