Description

Caprese skewers are an easy appetizer that turns classic Italian caprese salad into a grab-and-go snack. Tomatoes and mozzarella pearls are layered with basil leaves and served with a delightful balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • ½ cup mozzarella pearls
  • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Add balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 8 minutes or until thickened, stirring often. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
  2. On a skewer place 2 small pearls of mozzarella.
  3. Then add a basil leaf. You can fold it double if it’s too big.
  4. Then add a cherry tomato.
  5. Then add another basil leaf.
  6. And add 2 small mozzarella pearls again.
  7. Repeat until you run out of ingredients.
  8. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and season with black pepper to taste.

Notes

Caprese skewers are best enjoyed freshly made.
