Description

These cream cheese sugar cookies are made with a rich cream cheese dough, adding a subtle tanginess to their sweetness. These melt-in-your-mouth cookies are perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar, plus additional for dusting
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together softened butter and cream cheese until creamy using electric mixer. Gradually mix in powdered sugar, then add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the all purpose flour mixture to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Using your hands, shape the dough into 24 evenly sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake the cookies for 9-10 minutes, or until they are set and lightly golden brown on the bottom.
  7. Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and transfer them to a wire cooling rack, then dust with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
