These loaded tater tots are the ultimate crispy, cheesy, and flavorful appetizer, smothered in creamy queso, ranch dressing, crumbled bacon, and fresh scallions. Perfect for game day, parties, or a fun side dish, this easy recipe turns classic tater tots into an irresistible crowd-pleaser!


Ingredients

  • 1 package of frozen tater tots (about 32 oz)
  • 8 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup queso 
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Bake the tater tots according to the package instructions in a single layer on a baking sheet until golden and crispy.
  2. Place a wire rack on another baking sheet. Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on the rack for even cooking.
  3. Bake the bacon in the same oven for 15-20 minutes or until crispy, checking around the 12 minute mark to prevent overcooking. Once crispy, remove and let cool slightly before chopping.
  4. While the tots and bacon are baking, slice the scallions and warm the queso in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth and pourable, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Transfer the baked tater tots to a large serving dish. Drizzle with warm queso and ranch, then sprinkle with chopped bacon.
  6. Garnish with the chopped scallions.
  7. Finish with a light sprinkle of salt and pepper. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
