Ground Beef & Potato Skillet

Seasoned ground beef and bacon are layered with potatoes and cheese for a skillet dinner recipe the entire family will love.

– 1-1.5 lb ground beef – 4 large russet potatoes – 6 slices thick cut bacon – ½ medium yellow onion, diced – ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce – 2 teaspoons dry mustard – 1 teaspoon garlic powder – 1 teaspoon salt – 1 teaspoon ground pepper – 2 cups milk – 1 cup colby jack cheese – green onion (optional)

Ingredients

Cut potatoes into ¼ inch slices. Set aside.

Chop the bacon into one inch pieces and brown in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.  Remove the bacon to a bowl and brown the ground beef. Drain and add the bacon back in. Add onion and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the onion is softened. Add the Worcestershire sauce and seasonings and stir to mix. Push the meat mixture to one side of the skillet and layer potatoes on the bottom of the skillet. Move meat to cover the potatoes and layer the slices on the opposite side so the entire bottom of the pan is covered.

Layer remaining potatoes on the top of the meat. Pour milk over the skillet, then add cheese over the top of the potatoes. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Tent the top with foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is golden and potatoes are fork tender.

Enjoy!
