Oh, ’tis the season for candy corn, Indian corn, Brach’s Autumn mix and those cute little mellocreme pumpkins that are so sweet they make my teeth hurt! I just love seeing those plump little pumpkins line the store shelves and I couldn’t help but pick up a bag (or two!) over the weekend. And when I piled those orange and green cuties in a pretty mason jar with a hand stamped tag, I had one cute gift on my hands! I think all of your friends, family and maybe even random strangers will want a Pick of the Patch Fall Mason Jar Gift!!
I love simple gifts like this that are sure to make someone smile! These would make easy teacher gifts, a sweet treat for a coworker or a fun place card and gift for guests! I mean, who can resist the charm of a cupcake paper ruffle?!
These are SO easy to make and require basic crafting supplies. Oh, and you’ll have to raid your cupcake paper stash, too! Of course, the last few orange cupcake papers I had were at the very bottom of the long narrow jar that I keep them in. But it was worth it to add that extra touch to these mason jar gifts! Here is a quick run down of the easy-as-pumpkin-pie instructions!
I used a tall, thinner jar for the larger mason jar gift and to attach the tag after I stamped it, I just slid the twine tie between the metal lid and cupcake paper before I twisted the ring on. For the smaller half pint mason jar gift, I attached the stamped tag with a piece of striped green washi tape to the top of the jar – I think it looks like a stem and leaf!

Thank you for the idea of “Pick of the Patch” jar of candy. Just today I gave the group in our school’s technology department a jar similar to what you created. The staff had been especially helpful to me as school started, then my computer crashed, and then we had a 3-day reaccreditation visit requiring their help. They are an incredibly talented bunch and I definitely wanted them to know they were “the pick of the patch!” I always love jar ideas – as my last name is “Ball.”

Hi Theresa – I bet your technology team appreciated your gift! I’ve definitely got a few more jar ideas up my sleeve that I’ll be sharing for the holidays 🙂

Hi, love this idea! Super cute. May I ask, where did you get the stamp for the tag?
Keri says
Hi Aimee – I actually just used a set of small alphabet stamps that I picked up at my local craft store for a few bucks. I use them ALL the time 🙂

Thank you for the tip! 🙂 Not usually a very crafty person, but I’m giving it a shot!
