Happy Friday! Glad you stopped by!
Is any one else’s summer just seem to be on fast forward?! It’s almost August!! And I can’t believe it is Friday already! Another week down…one week closer to a Bug in middle school (EEK!) and a Bug in 3rd grade … one week closer to my birthday (woo hoo!) … and one week closer to another fin de friday craft and tutorial post! But let’s not jump the gun! Let’s jump right into to this week’s post!
My aunt asked me to create some sweet little paper goods for a baby shower she was hosting for my cousin Libbe and her then so-to-arrive little man, Blake. (He’s here all happy, healthy and adorable now!) But of course! I was only too happy to oblige! Blake’s room is a green and brown jungle theme and so was the shower … it was a no-brainer that we decided that “hello little monkey!” was the perfect way to welcome Blake to the jungle!!
And without further ado, the HOW-TO:
Supplies: card stock, ink, stamps (I used a monkey, vine and ABC stamps), square and scallop edge punches, oh and serious upper arm strength…there was a whole lotta stampin’ goin’ on, ha ha!
First, I made these adorable buffet cards – these are perfect for any party or shower food so you don’t have to answer the same question 500 times: “Is this beef or pork?” or “Is there peanut butter in these cookies?” and “Is this regular or decaf coffee?”
I hand stamped their menu (including food and drinks) and left a few blank for any last minute changes or additions – these also make adorable place cards for other occasions!
Next, I stamped the tags for the 100 favor bags to be stuffed with green and brown M&Ms…
Green and brown curling ribbon attached the tags once the bags were filled
Finally, I made what I ended up calling “table talkers” … these were placed on each table with the centerpiece and also labeled key tables like “gifts”, “books for Blake” and “cards” …
These were my favorite things…just too cute for words! Love the scalloped edge on everything – my scallop edge punch got a SERIOUS workout for this project!!
I stamped each little monkey, stamped two toned vines and inked the edges of everything! The best part is that these could be used for thank you or note cards after the shower!
I was totally bummed to miss Libbe’s shower (it was held in Ohio) but I was so glad that I could at least be there in crafty spirit 😉
Can’t you just see the buffet cards featuring banana cupcakes with little nilla wafer monkey faces (the cupcake party has a fun link!), chocolate covered animal crackers, banana/peanut butter/chocolate milkshakes, little monkey face shaped sandwiches…I could go totally bananas planning a shower like this one!
