Looking for a tasty chocolate peanut butter fudge recipe without using condensed milk? You’ve come to the right place, this easy fudge recipe has just 4 ingredients and takes less than 10 minutes of prep time!
I love an easy fudge recipe (hello 3 ingredient fudge!) but sometimes you have a sweet tooth hankering for a rich, delicious fudge and you may not have condensed milk on hand. Never fear, while many microwave fudge recipes use condensed milk, today’s easy chocolate peanut butter fudge recipe is a fun variation without it.
Why I love this recipe
- no sweetened condensed milk needed
- rich, dense chocolate flavor AND peanut butter swirls remind me of Reese’s peanut butter cups
- less than 10 minutes to prep for this sweet treat
- only 4 basic ingredients
- unlike traditional fudge, there is no double boiler or candy thermometer needed, you only need a microwave!
- this is an easy recipe to double or triple for gifting during the holiday season
Ingredients
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- chocolate frosting
- peanut butter baking chips
- white frosting
Step by step
- Line a 8 by 8 or 9 by 9 inch square pan with parchment paper or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the chocolate chips and peanut butter chips in two separate medium microwave safe bowls.
- Microwave the bowl of chocolate chips in 30 second intervals, stirring in between intervals. Continue for 2 minutes total or until the chips are just melted and smooth when stirred.
- Once the chips are smooth remove the lid and foil from the chocolate icing and microwave for one minute.
- Pour melted frosting into the melted chips and stir to mix.
- Repeat the process with the peanut butter chips and white icing.
- Heat chocolate mixture for 30 seconds if needed to rewarm. Alternate pouring the chocolate mixture and peanut butter mixture into the prepared pan to create that chocolate peanut butter fudge swirl.
- Tap dish on the countertop to remove any air bubble and refrigerate for 4 hours or until set.
- Slice into 1 inch squares and serve!
Tips for Best Results
- Slice fudge when cold, do not let it come to room temperature
- Slice with a sharp chef’s knife
- To make slicing even easier run the knife under hot water to warm it, then wipe dry before slicing
Variations
You can use dark chocolate chips or white chocolate chips to experiment with different flavors. You can also add a dollap of creamy peanut butter or even crunchy peanut butter to add extra peanut butter flavor to the peanut butter layer, just do not use natural peanut butter.
Some readers also add a pinch of salt on top of the fudge before it hardens or add in a little vanilla extract to the chocolate layer. As with all of our recipes, we encourage you to start with our recipe then make it your own!

Storage
Store covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days. To prevent fudge from sticking separate pieces with layers of wax paper or parchment paper.
