Our Grilled Bratwurst Dippers & Easy Cheese Sauce were developed for a sponsored partnership with The National Pork Board program and One2One Network. Your family will love this fun dinner idea!
Another grilling recipe? You betcha! And since Bratsgiving (oh, it’s a thing!) is coming up on August 16th, I cooked up a fun dinner idea using bratwurst that was inspired by my German roots. My great grandfather’s German family – the Damschroders – immigrated to the US, which may explain my love for brats, sauerkraut, pretzels and this easy peasy cheese sauce! I’m fairly sure that you can never go wrong with brats and cheese sauce, no?!
Bratwurst Dippers & Easy Cheese Sauce
Walmart was our only stop for all of our Bratsgiving supplies … Johnsonville brats, potatoes, soft pretzels and the ingredients for the cheese sauce. Johnsonville has a full assortment of fresh grilling links at Walmart (I grabbed the original bratwurst and the beer n’ bratwurst – yum!) and they are the #1 brand of brats nationally. Johnsonville uses premium cuts of pork and they have the perfect blend of spices for really flavorful brats!
And now, through September 7th, snap a photo the next time you toss some pork on the grill and tag it with #GrillPorkSweeps on Instagram. Then, fill out the entry form at GrillPork.org to be entered to win a year’s worth of free groceries from Walmart and awesome prizes from Smithfield, A1 and Johnsonville! While you’re there, check out the great recipes and grilling tips at GrillPork.org.
We had so much fun dunking crispy roasted potatoes, slices of grilled bratwurst and bits of soft pretzel in the melty, flavorful cheese sauce. If you have a fondue pot, that would definitely keep the cheese sauce warm, but if not, just heat the sauce as needed as you dip. We also had mustard to dip our bratwurst dippers in to balance out the rich cheese sauce. Or try A.1.’s new spicy flavors in Sweet Chili Garlic, Spicy Chipotle, and Smokey Black Pepper! Hey, we’re equal opportunity dippers, so if ketchup is your thing, these bite-sized bratwurst dippers won’t mind a bit!
Wouldn’t it be fun to alternate slices of bratwurst, potatoes and pretzels on skewers for kebabs? I think that’s what we’ll try the next time we’re craving this cheese sauce 😉
