Our 3 Ingredient Energy Bites are a delicious sweet treat that won’t derail your healthy eating plan! They are easy to mix up (and customize) with your favorite nut butter and they are even kid approved!
I am fairly new to the energy bite craze. Not sure how I missed it since I love a good no bake recipe. Energy bites are packed with protein, healthy carbs and can be easily customized to your specific nutrition needs. This energy bites recipe, for example, can be made with honey or agave and peanut butter, almond butter or even sun butter. You can add in dried fruit, coconut or dark chocolate chips.
3 Ingredient Energy Bites
There are only 3 ingredients needed for this recipe: honey, a nut butter (I used peanut butter) and a bag of WildRoots Nut Butter Bar mix.
P.S. This isn’t a sponsored post at all. In fact, I’m pretty sure the good folks at WildRoots may have never even heard of Shaken Together. But in keeping with my goal of sharing easy, no-fuss food that our family loves, I just had to get these energy bites in front of you.
Grab the nut butter mix at Sam’s or grab it on Amazon. (affiliate link)
Once you stir together the mix, peanut butter and honey, just scoop (I use a 1 oz. cookie scoop like this one) and roll into balls with your freshly washed hands.
I place them on wax or parchment paper and pop them in the fridge to set up. Once they are set up they are less sticky and can be stored in an air tight container.
These are SO yummy. The mix has oats, ground almonds, wheat germ and rice crisp cereal, so they are hearty, filling and satisfying. Especially when you need a little sweet treat. Feel free to stir in your favorite add-ins as well: dried cranberries, raisins, mini chocolate chips, coconut or chopped nuts.
I have been packing two of these energy bites instead of a granola bar for my boys’ lunches. There have been zero complaints and these energy bites have been disappearing from the fridge, too, so, kid approved is a fair statement 🙂
By using the cookie scoop, I can get 36 energy bites out of one bag of mix. Each energy bite is about 2-3 bites, so one or two energy bites is just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth or power through the afternoon slump at work.
