With just 5 ingredients and 10 minutes, you can whip up one of my favorite go to desserts for easy entertaining or last minute guests.

Homemade 10 Minute Vanilla Blueberry Sauce is a bright, berry topping that is perfect for pound cake, ice cream and yogurt. This homemade blueberry sauce can be used as a fruit filling for cakes, a swirl for pancakes or an add in for delicious blueberry cheesecake!

You all know that I am a big fan of living in Florida. So when I can grab gorgeous homegrown, Fresh from Florida blueberries at my local Publix, I am a happy, happy camper.

Fresh from Florida blueberries are in season and the key ingredient in this 10 minute Vanilla Blueberry Sauce!

This 10 Minute Vanilla Blueberry Sauce is packed with fruity blueberry flavor and a hint of warm vanilla. This homemade blueberry sauce is amazing on ice cream, pound cake, oatmeal and yogurt. Swirl it into pancake batter, layer it in cakes or just eat this blueberry sauce by the spoonful!

Ingredients

  • blueberries
  • sugar
  • cornstarch
  • vanilla extract

Step by step

  1. Bring blueberries, sugar, and water to a boil.
  2. Smash blueberries as the mixture cooks.
  3. Lower heat, then add a cornstarch slurry (cornstarch and water).
  4. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.

Description

10 Minute Vanilla Blueberry Sauce is bursting with fresh blueberries and a hint of warm vanilla flavor. This gorgeous glossy blueberry sauce is absolutely delicious over pound cake, ice cream, oatmeal and yogurt!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup + 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp water + 1 tbsp cornstarch)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place blueberries, sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil (about 7 minutes) and smash/mash most of the berries as mixture cooks.
  3. Lower heat to low and stir in cornstarch slurry.
  4. Stir and allow sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Allow blueberry sauce to cool and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
