Thanksgiving is right around the corner and the winter holidays are following close on its heels. With temperatures finally feeling a little like Fall in Florida, we can start to enjoy my favorite things about this time of year: turning off our A/C, scarves, blankets and warm winter drinks!
{Non-Alcoholic} Apple Cider Rum Punch
Since I didn’t use any alcohol for this warm punch, adults and children alike can enjoy wrapping their hands around a steaming mug of this fragrant, spiced drink! My boys were so excited to try a ‘fancy drink’ since they typically get stuck with juice boxes or soda at parties 😉
While I mixed this up for two, the recipe can easily be doubled or tripled for a crowd! Here are the ingredients … you may already have them in your kitchen now!
- Apple cider
- SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
- One apple
- Rum extract
- Cinnamon sticks
While the apple cider is heating, you can measure one teaspoon of SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated into each mug. Since apple cider is so tangy and heavily spiced, adding a sweetener balances that out a little. SPLENDA® Sweeteners offer the sweetness of sugar, without all the calories and can be used in baking, cooking, and beverage mixing.
And then add the rum extract to each mug, just a 1/2 teaspoon …
Core the apple and slice it very thinly using a mandolin or sharp knife. The thin apple slices will absorb the flavors of the non-alcoholic apple cider rum punch and soften as you sip … they are my favorite part of this warm winter drink!
Once the cider is heated, divide it between the mugs, add a few apple slices and use a cinnamon stick to blend the cider, SPLENDA® and rum extract. Then, all that is left to do is enjoy!
{Non-Alcoholic} Apple Cider Rum Punch
Ingredients
- 16 oz. apple cider
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 apple
- SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Granulated
- Rum extract
Instructions

Heat apple cider with cinnamon stick in the microwave or on the stove top until thoroughly warmed through

Add 1 teaspoon SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated and 1/2 teaspoon of rum extract to each mug.

Divide warm apple cider between two mugs.

Add thinly sliced apples and a cinnamon stick for garnish.
Believe me when I say that little addition of rum extract takes apple cider to a whole new level! And don’t leave out the apple slices – not only are they pretty, but you will love to munch on them after they have softened and absorbed all that delicious flavor!!

Hey girl, how in heck are you? Hope all well with boys and life/hubs/job.
This punch looks and sounds so luscious. Had never heard of rum extract, great drink for all ages, what a great idea and looks pretty easy to mix up ahead. When I have guests I like to have as much ready as possible. Am nervous hostess, never have been good at it.
