I’ll admit that I fall prey to the frozen section of my grocery store sometimes. {Close your ears frozen cheesecake and broccoli and chicken tenderloins.  We are still tight.} But I am a sucker for those over priced cheesy garlic bread slices. That is until I decided to stuff some leftover fresh mozzarella into soft bakery rolls.  I have definitely broken up with frozen garlic bread and moved on to these …
Mozzarella Stuffed Garlic Rolls
Yep, another 4 ingredient recipe.
Rolls – .35 each from my grocery store bakery.
Cheese.
Butter.
Garlic.
Just the necessities, right?
These were the perfect partner for my Skillet Chicken Parm Pasta. Â Once the pasta starts cooking in the pan, you can get these rolls ready and both will be done and on the table in minutes!
Honestly, the only thing I would do differently would be to slice the rolls a little deeper so the rolls fanned out more rather than bake like little garlic butter rolly pollies. (I had to Google the correct spelling for rolly pollies, by the way. All for you, friends.) Oh, and maybe let a little more melted butter drip down into the slices.  Can’t go wrong with that!

Ingredients
- Fresh bakery rolls
- Sliced fresh mozzarella
- Melted butter (about 2 tablespoons for 4 large rolls)
- Garlic salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375*.
- Slice each dinner roll 6 – 7 times. Don’t cut all the way through, but get very close to the bottom of the roll.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the melted butter. You may want to melt another tablespoon or two of butter to brush it down into the slices before the cheese is inserted.
- Stuff each slice with a piece of fresh mozzarella.
- Sprinkle the tops of the rolls with garlic salt to taste.
- Bake until the cheese is melty and the tops of the rolls are toasted and golden brown. Mine were done in about 7-9 minutes.
- Note: Baking time could vary depending on the size of the rolls and the thickness of the cheese.
If you are out of fresh mozzarella, you can used sliced mozzarella or whatever cheese you have on hand. Cheese + bread is always a pretty sure thing! Your grocery story or bakery may have different shaped rolls or even whole wheat, so again, feel free to pick up whatever your family likes.
