Creamy dreamy Cookie Dough Iced Coffee!

Having an almost 15 year old {side note: Say what?!}, the importance of a cup from a coffee shop is paramount.  I mean, they literally just built a Starbucks IN our neighborhood.  Me and my debit card cringe every time we drive by. 😉  But when we realized that Dunkin Donuts had cookie dough iced coffee, we knew we had to make a trip to try it out!  And it was fantastic.  And I knew I had to make something similar at home.

BUT, my kid gets all kinds of crazy on caffeine.  Like walks out to the living room in a dead sleep, fully convinced that someone had taken all of the electronics in our living room because the shoes at the front door were disturbed.  Like stayed at a friend’s house and swore that he saw people come in their house at night.  He lay under the covers, terrified for hours until the sun came up and someone else was awake in the house.  It took him months to be convinced that he really did not see that and it was safe to stay there.  So needless to say, Cam gets decaf all the way!

So, if you have caffeine fueled crazy talking sleepwalking kids, you can make this creamy cookie dough iced decaf and it is just as delicious!

This is creamy cookie dough iced coffee is like a cross between regular iced coffee and a milk shake.  The ice cream and cookies make it thicker than plain iced coffee, but the milk thins it out enough to serve over ice and still sip through a straw.  You could totally make this a milkshake by adding less liquid.  It is quite possibly, the most delicious iced coffee I have ever made!  And the little bits of chocolate and cookie that lurk at the bottom of your glass are pretty delightful, too!
