Apple Sweet Tea Spritzers

Apple sweet tea spritzerswith cute apple slice drink toppers!

Last week, I shared the sweet story behind this easy recipe for Tennessee Tea.  While a memory changed the course of that day, I still couldn’t shake the idea of fresh Southern sweet tea infused with a little fizz from sparkling apple cider.  And when I remembered the gorgeous Gala apple that was chilling in our fridge, I just had to stir up this delicious sparkling twist on sweet tea … Apple Sweet Tea Spritzers!

Sweet tea + sparkling apple cider = fun fizzy Summer drink!

Let’s talk about all of the reasons that these Apple Sweet Tea Spritzers are one of my favorite Summer drinks!

  1. Mason jars.  Everything tastes better in a mason jar.
  2. Striped paper straw cuteness.
  3. Sweet tea.  The Southern liquid that courses through our veins like the mighty Mississippi.
  4. Crunchy beautiful Gala apples.  First, cubed and swirling among the ice cubes – little bites of heaven when your sipping is done. Then, sliced and cored with a star cookie cutter to rest atop our mason jars.  Could there be a cuter way to corral your straw?  Also?  Munchable and cool on a hot Summer day.  SO fun!
  5. And finally, the sparkling, fizzy apple cider that started this whole thing.  Bright and bubbly and just the right touch of tart … sweet tea’s new BFF.

Apple Sweet Tea Spritzers

  • Sweet tea, chilled
  • Sparkling apple cider, chilled
  • Apple chilled (I used Gala)
  • Small cookie cutter (I used a star)
  • Ice
  • Mason jars & straws

  1. Turn the apple on its side and cut a fairly thin round slice of apple for every mason jar.
  2. Center the cookie cutter in each apple slice over the core and seeds and press down. The shape should pop out along with the core and seeds.
  3. Dice/cube the rest of the apple.
  4. Fill each mason jar with ice and add a sprinkling of diced apples.
  5. Add sweet tea, filling the jar about 2/3 of the way.
  6. Fill the mason jar the rest of the way with sparkling apple cider.
  7. Top with an apple slice, add a straw and enjoy!

You can of course, do without the cubed apple and apple slices but it is way more fun with it!  If you can’t find sparkling apple cider {my local Walmart had it}, you could always add apple juice and a splash of seltzer.  Or, add some apple ale or hard apple cider for an adult version of this apple sweet tea spritzer!  Enjoy!
