{what’s shakin’ link party} #33

Well, we made it through Halloween … one 12 year old “arachnophobia” + one 10 year old vampire = a truck load of candy!!  I was on candy duty at our house while The Saint had trick-or-treat duty … I browsed Pinterest and blogged between door bells!  It was a pretty great night … hope you all had a fun night whether you passed out candy, scoured the neighborhood for the full sized candy bars or just relaxed at home!  And now I can’t wait to see what you have been working on during the past week!

Welcome to the {what’s shakin’ link party} #33!!!

I’d really love it if you could grab a button and add it to your party page or link back with a text link … it’s not technically required, but would you do it if I said pretty please?!

Here’s the plan:

  • Link up recipes, parties, ideas, DIY tutorials, projects, design/decorating pointers, tips & tricks … basically anything other than another link party, giveaway or your blog’s main page.
  • We all browse, leave gushing comments, marvel, pin, tweet, share on Facebook and drool over your talent.
  • I will pick out some party faves and feature you the following Thursday. Then you can grab a party fave button and brag to all your friends ;)
  • Wash, rinse and repeat!!

  1. […] Friends, it’s not too late to whip up some wonderful Halloween treats. You could make these sweet and salty pumpkin seeds or try the cookie recipe below. The dough comes together quickly. It’s a drop cookie, so their a snap to bake off. They’re soft, chewy sugar cookies, with pumpkin and light Fall spices that make them perfect for Halloween.   Simple Pumpkin Sugar Cookies 1/2 cup vegan butter 1/2 cup non-hydrogenated vegetable shortening  2 cups granulated sugar 3/4 cup pumpkin puree 1 tsp ground cinnamon 3/4 tsp kosher salt 1/2 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp ground cloves 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 3 cups white flour Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening, and sugar with an electric mixer, until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the pumpkin, cinnamon, salt, ginger, cloves, baking powder, and baking soda and beat another 2 minutes, until evenly combined. Mix in the flour and beat until the dough is fluffy. Scoop by rounded tablespoonful onto a greased or parchment lined cookie sheet, keeping the cookies about 1 1/2-2 inches apart. Bake 10-11 minutes, until golden brown and firm. Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store cooled cookies in an airtight container. Yields about 60 cookies.  ***joining Keri at Shaken Together for the What’s Shakin’ link up*** […]
