{try this} homemade cream soda

We have one week - ONE WEEK!!! - until summer is done.  I am in serious denial!  We have been to the beach, the pool, the springs, we've eaten an exorbitant number of ice pops and have flip flop tans to prove that summer was awesome!

But in one short week I will have a 4th grader and a 7th grader ... back to schedules and homework, projects and book fairs ... SIGH.  Are you in summer-can't-be-over-yet denial, too?

Good!  Let's do something fun ... just because!  Like make homemade cream soda!

Wanna {try this}?

Stir together:

12 oz. cold club soda

2 teaspoons maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Serve over ice if desired.  Serve in a mason jar and sip through a striped paper straw and pretend that summer isn't over just yet!!

Now ya'll, this is not gourmet drink and it doesn't take exactly like store bought cream soda, but it's sweet and fizzy and fun to make with the kids ... just what summer deserves!!

If you liked this easy cream soda, I bet you'll love Shirley temple sweet tea,  limeade sherbet fizz, ginger sweet tea sparklers and maybe margarita punch!  All of these drinks are non-alcoholic so even the kids can enjoy them!

This project or recipe was shared at the blogs on my Link page!

  19. You know, I never would have thought to pair maple syrup with vanilla extract to make cream soda. I was in Chi-town and there was some weird special cream soda from Wisconsin that was absolutely delicious. I'll have to try this one too! Thanks for sharing!
