And this week's {create this} project was born ...
This is one of the easiest DIY projects I have done, but I really, really love the end result!!
Grab a set of post earrings (that will end up having a flat back without the posts), Glossy Accents (or an adhesive for plastic and metal), a ring with a flat platform from your local craft store and a tool of some sort to pull/cut off the earring post.
Now, you'll need to remove the post from the earring. Initially, I cut the post down with wire cutters but I ended up and just pulled the whole thing off in order to get it completely flat. Then, using the Glossy Accents, adhere the earring to the ring platform and allow to dry. (I propped mine up in a spool of twine.)
The possibilities are pretty much endless - almost any pair of earrings can be transformed into a colorful, inexpensive DIY accessory!
You can use the same techniques to make headbands, barrettes ... I think I may have to start scouring the accessory stores at the mall - maybe I'll bump into you! ;)

Really cute! Neither of my 2 sisters have pierced ears, but I do :) I hardly wear rings though because my fingers are so tiny. My wedding ring is like 4 1/2, for real! So maybe I just have to start making my own!
ReplyDeleteVery cute and easy! Love it! Thanks for linking up to The Kurtz Corner. You've been featured on the FB fan page, go check it out!
